COUNSELLING
Our aim is to help clients and their families develop strategies to reduce distress during their cancer journey.
When you first come to see a counsellor at Encompass Health they will ask you about your concerns and what you would like help with. This assessment usually takes about an hour. After the assessment they will discuss the options for treatment or further follow up with you.
This may be as little as a one-off session, giving you some resources to use at home, or it may involve further sessions to provide ongoing support.

For Individuals
We work closely with individuals to navigate their cancer journey by providing personalised care and support tailored to their unique physical, emotional, and nutritional needs at every stage of treatment and recovery.
For Couples & Families
At Encompass Health, we also support patients' families, helping their loved ones navigate their own emotions, adjust to the challenges of a cancer diagnosis, and provide meaningful care throughout the journey. Family members can be seen individually or with their loved one.

Encompass Health Client
"During my chemotherapy I was struggling a bit. I had been diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas and I kept it quiet from my family. I'd had a non-malignant brain tumour the Christmas before, and I didn't want to spoil a second Christmas. Being able to talk to someone who understood and knew what I was going through was amazing. It relieved my stress and anxiety."
