Here are four tips to help those going through cancer treatment manage nausea:

Eat Small, Frequent Meals

Instead of having three large meals a day, try eating smaller portions more frequently. This can help prevent the stomach from becoming too full and reduce the likelihood of nausea.

Stay Hydrated

Sip on clear fluids like water, herbal teas, or ginger ale throughout the day. Staying hydrated can help soothe the stomach and prevent dehydration, which can worsen nausea.

Avoid Strong Odors and Spicy Foods

Certain smells and spicy or greasy foods can trigger nausea. Try to stick to bland, easy-to-digest foods like crackers, toast, or plain rice, and avoid foods with strong smells.

Use Relaxation Techniques

Stress and anxiety can contribute to nausea. Practices like deep breathing, meditation, or listening to calming music can help relax the body and mind, potentially easing nausea symptoms.
