Research has shown that Oncology Massage improves quality of life for people with a cancer diagnosis.

What to expect during an oncology massage:

An adapted gentle touch therapy to soothe tensions which in turn can minimise the effects of cancer treatment, as well as symptoms.  This differs from person to person, and  sequences are adapted to current conditions, or limitations on the day.  Posture support is provided to ensure comfort, safety and ease which encourages the body's relaxation response.  Safe natural products are used for application on the skin

Long term benefits

As part of a wellness plan, oncology massage is a valuable complement towards regaining function and confidence.  It provides the space and care to restore human connection, validate physical and emotional challenges and regain balance and healing.  The main effects from chemotherapy and radiation such as fatigue, nausea, anxiety or peripheral neuropathy are significantly reduced to restore a new level of wellness.

"I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, but I had the gene so I eventually had my ovaries removed. Because of this and the medication I was on I started to gain weight. Because I was virtually in early menopause, this was having implications for my heart. The Encompass nutritionist was so lovely. She made it fun. Asked what OI was eating and it was pretty good. But she tweaked things. More water, add some lentils to meals to increase the protein, just small manageable thins and I lost 6 kilos while I was with her and I am still losing. She made it fun, achievable and made me accountable."
